Dr. Harold D Steinberg

Integrative Medicine is the blending of conventional medicine with holistic, complementary, and alternative medicine. Integrative Medicine is defined as healing-oriented medicine that takes account of the whole person (body, mind, heart and spirit), including all aspects of lifestyle. It emphasizes the therapeutic relationship and makes use of all appropriate therapies, both conventional and alternative.

Dr. Steinberg has been practicing Complimentary and Alternative Medicine exclusively for the past 15 years.

He graduated from the Boston University School of Medicine in 1984 and completed residency at Catholic Medical Center of Brooklyn and Queens in 1990. Originally educated and trained as a General and Vascular Surgeon, with special interest in Intensive Care and Nutrition, he practiced in this arena until 1996 when he made a change to Complimentary and Alternative Medicine.

While practicing surgery in Hawaii, a colleague and friend who knew of his chronic problems with back and joint pain introduced him to a local Prolotherapist from whom he received treatment. After his firsthand experience that it permanently repairs damage instead of masking pain, he received training and made it part of his practice.

Shortly thereafter he met and received training in Neural Therapy from the physician who introduced the technique to the United States. This was followed by a complete changeover to Complimentary and Alternative medicine.

Dr. Steinberg has a unique viewpoint on how the body works. In seeing issues from the whole-body perspective of a general surgeon, he often finds causes of illness that other doctors may have missed.

His familiarity with a variety of medical approaches; including Acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Homeopathy, Neural Therapy and various forms of Chiropractic treatment contribute to his broad and truly holistic approach to the patient.

Patients from all over the world have come to see "Doctor Harold" for their ailments. His knowledge, skill, and ability to explain the processes at work in their bodies make him their choice for medical care.

Some of his past associations in Alternative Medicine have been:

  • Tahoma Clinic, Renton, WA

  • Private practice in Manhattan and Long Island, New York.

  • Medical Director, The Healing Center, New York, New York.

  • Assistant Medical Director, The Schachter Center for Complimentary Medicine, Suffern, New York.

Dr. Steinberg gives lectures on Integrative Medicine, Reconstructive Therapy and Neural Therapy
